Climate Observatory: 2023 is the hottest year in 125,000 years

The world last month witnessed its warmest October on record, continuing a series of monthly temperature records dating back to June 2023, the European Union's Copernicus Climate Observatory announced on Wednesday.

“When we compare our data to the IPCC data, we can say that this is the warmest year in 125,000 years,” Samantha Burgess, deputy head of the Copernicus Climate Change Service, said in a statement.
