4700 years old.. 30 artifacts returned to Greece

The United States returned to Greece on Monday 30 artifacts, including marble statues, armored helmets and shields, that were found to have been illegally taken out of the country, Greek authorities said.

The pieces given to Greek officials in New York date back more than 4,700 years to the Middle Ages.

The "magnificent" works are valued at $3.7 million, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement. He said 19 of the artifacts were voluntarily surrendered by Michael Ward, a New York art gallery owner.
