Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched the world's largest concentrated solar power and photovoltaic project in Dubai.

The Sheikh said: The project extends over an area of 44 square kilometres and costs more than 15 billion dirhams. It includes the tallest concentrated solar power tower in the world at a height of 263 metres. It also includes the largest thermal energy storage capacity in the world, and will reduce carbon emissions by more than 1.6 million. Tons per year.

He added: Our goal is for 100% of Dubai's energy production capacity to be from clean sources by 2050, and our goal is complete carbon neutrality by the same year.
